People Problems Clinic

Growing a small accounting firm isn’t just about winning new clients, systems or strategy. It’s about people and developing a team that can run the business. When people challenges build up, whether it’s struggling to delegate, low performers, hiring headaches, or changing a toxic culture, they become one of the biggest blocks to scaling your business.

This interactive session brings together accounting firm owners to work through their most pressing people problems. It’s not about theoretical leadership frameworks or fluffy HR advice. It’s about the real-world frustrations of managing and motivating a team when no one ever showed you how. It’s about small accounting firm owners sharing the challenges and helping each other find real solutions that can be implemented.  It’s about what’s getting in the way right now and how to shift the way you think about and approach growth.

Date: 3 June

Time: 2pm (UK Time)

Duration: 90 minutes (Virtual Session)

Key challenges we will explore:

  • Time and bandwidth: How do you find time to lead and manage your team when client work is constantly pulling you back in?

Delegation: Why is it so hard to let go of work, even when you know you need to? And how can you delegate without things slipping through the cracks?

Staff performance: How do you handle underperformance or attitude issues when don’t like conflict or are just “too nice”?

Hiring and retention pressures: How do you attract, afford, and retain good people in a market where salaries are rising faster than fees? Particularly with the annual increases to the minimum wage?

Developing your team: How do you help staff move beyond being good accountants into good account managers and commercially sharp?

Team buy-in for change: What do you do when you’re excited about changes (like outsourcing or new tech), but your team resists or drags their heels?

Leadership identity: How do you shift from being the technician to the leader your firm needs. Especially if you’ve never been shown how?

You’ll leave with fresh insight into what’s really going on in your team, plus practical ideas from others in the same boat. Expect honest conversations, no judgement, and support from fellow owners who get it.

You’ll also experience what it’s like to have the power and support of The Accountants’ Growth Club community behind you.
